Description:

This project consists of a “new media manifesto,” which is “new” in content and form, addressing an issue of composition and the place of new media in it. In short, this manifesto was written as a medium to express my grievances against box office films that populate “mainstream media” and how independent artists can produce original and though provoking ideas through film and cinematography.

Reflection:

Composing my own manifesto was a nice way to address the internal elephant in my own room, I felt that writing this piece flowed straight from the mind onto the digital paper. Even discussing this project with my colleagues, I found that the manifesto was a relieving project to voice a hot take on something that you are passionate about. If I was to reproduce this project or evolve it into another medium, I would probably create a zine that features my main tips for independent filmmakers at the end of this manifesto.
