Description

For this assignment, I parodied jewelry advertisements and how they target customers during holiday sales. It’s also a play on words with a tongue-in-cheek remark about our culture’s feelings about waiting til the last minute, and also mimics how companies will put pressure on prospective clients.

Reflection

I wanted to produce something that not only caught the eye, but also had a potential double-entendre, depending on how the viewer sees it. The measurements I used on Canva would work well for a print ad in a catalog, as well as a large mockup in a mall setting or poster. It would also do well in video marketing, as it could spawn a series of holiday ads that play annually, or even seasonally, depending on the products being advertised. I feel the parody did its job and makes every viewer turn inwardly to consider their own spending habits.
