Description:

This presentation is a visual representation of our efforts to facilitate a classroom discussion relating to the assigned reading materials for the week of March 22, 2021. Athena focused on the sections relating to algorithms and data collection, while I focused on the sections relating to assessing multimodal compositions in a classroom setting.

Reflection:

I found my work on the assessment topic to significantly benefit my development as a multimodal composer. As the readings mentioned, multimodal projects often require different skills and decisions than a traditional textually oriented essay, and therefore need to be assessed through adjusted criteria. Although the two sources I outline presented different interpretations of how a multimodal composition can and should be assessed, they helped me to become more aware of the decisions I make concerning copyright, juxtaposition, and relation between different modes. For me, at this time, considering how my projects would be evaluated and assessed guided me to be more mindful of my broader objectives for each and the decisions I was making in attaining them.
