Description:
As Yessica begins offering freelance services, I felt that it was important for her to have a business card to quickly share her information when networking. A business card is also a more traditional and personal method of promoting a business, so Yessica’s clientele will appreciate the sentiment.
I also wanted to create a referral card for Yessica with the hopes of helping her expand her customer base. Yessica’s current clients can use these cards to spread the word about Looks Like Yess.
Yessica has occasionally encountered customers who challenge her pricing no matter how reasonable, so I created a menu which provides firm service costs. This menu will also describe Yessica’s services for prospective clients.
Reflection:
I knew from the start that I wanted to create a business card for Yessica. I felt that it was a step in the direction towards giving her business legitimacy. After finalizing the logotype, it was relatively easy to design the business card. Yessica only asked that it be traditional, yet tasteful. I scrolled through many business card examples to gain inspiration. I felt the most memorable cards effectively utilized white space and were double-sided, so I reflected these qualities in the Looks Like Yess business card.
I then created the referral card and service menu based on Yessica’s needs and concerns. She needed to expand her client base, and she was concerned about haggling customers. Yessica guided me with the content of these two documents; we discussed her service pricing as well as an appropriate referral discount. I designed all these documents with consistency in mind. I wanted each to carry a similar design theme and additionally represent Yessica’s values as a beauty specialist.
