Discussion:
The Adara Affirms Podcast Ep. 1 focused on healing, the journal entries I wrote, and how they inspired my friend and blog subscriber. The episode was a conversation between the two of us sharing things we have learned, struggled with, and what we are doing to practice healthy and mindful habits toward our personal healing journeys.
Reflection:
Editing this podcast episode was quite easy. I have some experience with podcasts from courses I’ve taken as well as being a part of the The Writing and Communication Center’s Production Team.
While editing this podcast, the major things that I had to revise were the use of extra words such “um, like, yeah, and long pauses in-between conversation. Because conversation between my friend and I was so natural, there were not many parts of the podcast to edit or delete.
I really enjoyed recording this podcast and the conversation that was had between my friend and I. The joy I receive from having deep and fruitful conversations made this experience a memorable one for sure. What was also cool about creating a podcast for this course was that I had intended to eventually start my own podcast through Adara Affirms someday, and again, I had the opportunity to record my very first episode through this course. I think my favorite part of the podcasting process was definitely getting to sit and listen to the conversation my friend and I had while editing. I learned so much from not only her, but about myself as a future podcasting host.
To record, I used Cleanfeed and invited my friend, to join me. For the editing process, I used Audacity, which was simple to use. The overall editing process took me two days to complete.
