Description

I made a podcast using AI voices of SpongeBob, Dory from Finding Nemo, and Aquaman from DC comics. It’s a fictional podcast in which SpongeBob and Dory interview characters from the sea. I thought this would make for a good soundscape project because of how I can implement music and voice. The podcast uses music from the SpongeBob SquarePants TV show, as well as an AI cover of Ocean Man.

Reflection

The use of AI was initially challenging, as every service I found either did not have the voices I needed or required payment. The hardest thing was getting Dory’s voice. For the speaking parts, I used an Ellen DeGeneres soundboard. For the singing part, since I couldn’t find either a Dory or Ellen version, I used a voice model of Vanessa from Phineas and Ferb. Additionally, Aquaman’s voice is a free one from Eleven Labs, with his singing voice being Dutch from Red Dead Redemption 2. If I had to do this again, I would want the voices to be more stabilized and natural. I like the way Aquaman’s voice sounds, but I think SpongeBob and Dory’s could use work.
