Description

This logo was created for the Sint Maarten Aquatics Federation which currently only encompasses competitive swimming and open water swimming but is looking to expand into diving and waterpolo. This logo is meant to be used as the official logo for board representatives, athletes, coaches, and the corresponding support team for T-shirts, polos, and any official apparel.

Reflection

When working on this project, I thought it important to incorporate a classic wave visual somehow since that is fairly commonplace in aquatic logos. The color scheme was chosen to match the blue that commonly represents pools and to highlight the light blue waters of the island which is a distinctive characteristic of the Caribbean. The palm trees and sun icons supplement the color scheme in creating an island aesthetic that emphasizes the tropical climate of the nation.
