Description

In this soundscape, Jenn G. describes one of her favourite days out with her family at the aquarium where she formed core memories alongside her siblings and parents. The storytelling has been enhanced with background tracks to help set the scene and sound effects to drive home rhetorical effectiveness and fully illustrate the image being painted.

Reflection

Throughout this design process, my main goal was to maintain the storyline without overwriting it. By supplementing the rhetorical strategies used by the speaker, I hoped to add another layer of sensory engagement to the experience in a way that was subtle yet effective. While sound writing/editing, I had a hard time settling on which audiory track speaks the most to me compared to what would align the most with the speaker’s intent in the storytelling.
