Description:

The featured logo and business card was made for Carlos Rodriguez Rosa’s freelance consultation business, R.R. Consulting. Carlos desired an approachable logo and business card which exuded trust while remaining recognizable and approachable. The logo is made of two mirrored interlocking R’s nestled in a sleek thin box expressing balance and focus. The business card is minimalistic with the intention of providing easy access to the business’ information.

Both the logo and business card were made using Adobe illustrator.

Reflection:

Working with the client was a wonderful experience as he knew the type of overall image he wanted. He provided the concept of the mirrored R’s during our initial conversations, allowing for multiple reiterations early on during the drafting process. Below are some original sketches of the logo.

Upon the client’s request I inflected movement into the logo by creating an overarching color gradient between the two R’s. In further conversations the client felt blues and brown hues expressed the desired ethos of his business.

When transferring the logo onto a business card, the client expressed his desires for keeping a minimal aesthetic. I used the facets of his freelance business on side of the business card while keeping the contact information easily readable in the middle of the documents. These were in line with standard business card formats. Below are the initial sketches for the business card layout.

In future revisions, I would consider changing the font type of the word ‘consulting’ under the two R’s to something less bubbly, perhaps more defined font. I would consider adding more relevant information onto the business card such as classifying him as a freelance writer and editor. Additionally, brightening the dark blue background to achieve a more approachable tone to the reader.
