Description
This logo originated as the logo concept for my digital media business. The logo is three letters connected to one another by their adjoining stems, with the accompanying “Emma Masur Design” written out underneath. I chose to write out the full words under the logotype because I felt as though it gave context to the letters above. I utilized Adobe Illustrator to create this logo, and I feel as though it is a great first attempt at creating a logo for my business.
Reflection
This project really touched on many elements of the design thinking process. Creating the idea came from a space where I knew that I needed to have a logo for my business plan. Coming out of that, I knew I wanted to have the logo represent my name, as well as the graphic design or digital media design field. Therefore, the prototype originally came from my desire to want to represent both a mark and words underneath, that also showcase the identity of my business. The design thinking process was the main theory and approach that informed this project.
This process differed from a typical writing assignment as I was not crafting prose and mainly was focusing on creating a visual design that depicted a business identity. In the end, I was mostly satisfied with how it turned out. I struggled with the alignment of different letters, and wish I had more time to really go through the alignment with a fine tooth comb and figure out the spacing of each element perfectly. I am satisfied with the end product in that I believe it shares who I am through a minimalist aesthetic and portrays the identity of my company as a digital media business.
