Discussion:
Designing a new logo for my business, Adara Affirms, was something I planned to do before I entered the course. Because the course focused on design and layout, I took the opportunity to rebrand Adara Affirms, Healing + Community for Women. The overall finished product is something I am very proud of, as this is one of 8 designs that I created.
Reflection:
Using the colors tan and brown were purposeful because I wanted the logo to give a calming and soothing feeling when observed by the audience. These colors make me feel at ease, so I knew that it would make some of my viewers feel the same, if not similar.
Using a template to redesign my business logo was the best decision I could have made for myself. I tried other design technology that I was unfamiliar with, and that, was a difficult process for me. I tried designing my earlier iterations with the new design technology, and I was not pleased with the products that came out of that. So, I decided to use Canva and a template to continue playing around with design options, and that process took about two hours to create a product that I liked and that fit Adara Affirms.
Elements that I added to the logo as I was revised it was the branch, to complete the circle. That addition brought the logo itself, together, in such a way that made the design stand out more than what I had imagined. Throughout my entire portfolio, plants are used to represent the journey of healing and the growth that comes along with embracing the journey for what it is.
